Actress Kate Hudson recently appeared on the “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen” show and discussed her decision to take a year-long break from dating in her 30s. Despite her hiatus, Hudson revealed that a lot of famous men tried to hit on her during that time, with many sliding into her DMs. She described the experience as a great ego boost and admitted that she enjoys flirting.
Hudson, who is now engaged to musician Danny Fujikawa, first spoke about her break from dating in a previous podcast where she explained that she wanted to break old patterns. This break ultimately lasted for three years, allowing her to focus on herself and prepare for her relationship with Fujikawa. The couple started dating in 2016 and recently got engaged in September 2021.
Hudson, who was previously married to Chris Robinson and engaged to Matt Bellamy, credits her therapist for helping her during this period of self-discovery. She shared that Fujikawa’s strong values and kind personality are what drew her to him and that she wouldn’t have been ready for the relationship if she hadn’t taken that time to be happy on her own. The couple now shares a daughter together and Hudson believes that taking a break from dating was essential for her personal growth and achieving a fulfilling relationship.
