Lonely Boar at Deschutes County Rescue Ranch Seeks Forever Home
Deschutes County, OR – A yearlong resident of the Deschutes County Rescue Ranch, a lonely boar named Freddie Poo is hoping to find a loving home. The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO), which oversees the ranch, is reaching out to the community to assist in finding Freddie a suitable family.
Despite his solitary nature, Freddie, known for his sweet demeanor, has shown a willingness to connect with other animal species, even if he doesn’t get along well with his fellow boars. "Freddie’s personality is a little bit shy at first, but with lots of treats and scratches, he warms up to his new person pretty quickly," said Mariya Leufven, an animal control technician with DCSO.
The DCSO has been dedicated to monitoring Freddie’s health during his stay at the rescue, ensuring he remains fit and well-cared for. As they continue their search for a forever home, they emphasize the importance of finding a loving environment that will provide the attention and affection he needs.
Potential adopters interested in welcoming Freddie Poo into their lives are encouraged to contact the Deschutes County Rescue Ranch and complete a livestock adoption application. This could be a chance for animal lovers to provide a second chance for a friendly boar who has been patiently awaiting his new family.
Freddie Poo deserves a joyful home where he can thrive—community members are invited to step forward and help make this possible.
